I am going to vent...yes again - sorry!!
I have a certain biological family member that is beyond frustrating!! He is stubborn and arrogant! And does not listen when those that love him try to explain the stuff that make us crazy!
He is damaging to his children and other children. So yes, I know if he happens to be viewing this - this is the end of what he will view because he thinks he is smarter then anyone else and that what he does is OK. Well it's not OK - which is why I have done what I have done....which resulted in him removing me from his life and the life of his children.
If I had to do it again - I would do the same thing - nothing would change. It is way more important to protect innocent children then it is to salvage a relationship with a family member that is harming children - or at least potentially harming children!
Answer me this - if you know nothing about the person - but you know these items....how would you react:
1. At age 13 he sexually molested a 6 year old girl. In his mind, he was "just a kid himself" - but I see it much different then that. He never took responsibility of his actions "she came on to me".
2. The relationships he has with women have been unsuccessful & the women have huge mental issues.
3. He yells at his children instead of talking to them. He puts young children in time out for an hour or longer at a time. He does not follow through with consistency. Instead of dealing with behaviors - he puts them in their room for hours on end. Or when the children begin to push back - they get thrown in mental hospitals (many times).
4. He attends a child's birthday party & because he "thinks" he hears someone say something he doesn't agree with - he blows up and starts screaming. He scared the children at the party so completely that one little boy ran home without his shoes on!!
5. He has sexual relations with an 18 year old that was placed in his care. Even though he admitted that he did this - he is now trying to cover his tracks and retract that he did this. (Another denial of his actions).
6. His daughter has a black eye - but he covers that she fell. Although the then girlfriend admitted that she "gently pushed her with her foot & the daughter threw herself down the stairs". Another time the girlfriend stated, "I gently lifted her up with my foot" & "I tried to get her attention by pulling on her ponytail".
So - with the above incidents, I called DCFS. The girlfriend is an artful story teller & convinced DCFS that she was "doing the best she could in a difficult situation" BARF PUKE!!
But I did what I could. The kids go back to the situation. Then we hear that this person is working to become a Cub Scout leader!! That pretty much was the straw that broke the camels back! We called the Counsil to make certain they knew the issues above that, in our opinion, puts the Cub Scouts and their families at HUGE risk!! Not that I believe he would sexually assault any of these kids - but I definitely do not think he has the correct set of skills to deal with his own two kids, not to mention an entire pack of kids. Yelling is not a way to teach these kids anything!
What the scouts did about this report we do not know. We know that he is a Pack leader, but a friend of mine stated they had heard that the "new Pack leader can't be allowed alone with the kids" - I don't know if they were referring to the same person...but makes me think they were.
That pretty much severed any relationship with this relative.
Then I find that his daughter is once again admitted to a psych hospital - this time a different one (did I mention that I believe the new step-mommy has Munchausen syndrome by proxy). So I decided to call the hospital and see if I could at least let the case worker know about the families concerns with this family and their parenting abilities (or non-abilities).
I got the caseworkers name & was transferred to her voicemail. I explained who I was and what my concerns were. Well - believe it or not, the caseworker played my message to the father. Yes - you heard correctly - played the message for him!! That seems like a mighty stupid thing to do!!
Ok - so that was the final straw on his part - he definitely wants nothing to do with me any longer. But every thing I did - I did to try somehow to protect his children and other children.
And the last little wrinkle to this story is that his wife is a real nut case & is working on a psychology degree on line. Now I have no idea if she is a good student, bad student, or any of that stuff - but I know that she has a diagnosable mental disorder - but I won't go any further than that at this point. I have a feeling she is working on a psych degree to perpetuate her art of deceiving people. Anyway - at some point after I made that phone call, she evidently got caught stealing a paper from someone or somewhere & her story to her friends and family is that either Darwin or I "hacked" into her compter account and changed the paper!!! See what I mean about diagnosable.....
And supposedly I called the city to report his truck or his yard or something. Nope didn't do that either.
I did & will again in the future if the need arises - report my suspicions of child abuse. I hate to think of what these kids continue to endure on a daily basis. I love them & my heart aches for them. I hope I am wrong - but fear I am not.
And someday if something really bad happens to one of these kids - I will get no joy out of saying I told you so. I will however, be screaming at the top of my lungs to DCFS & any other agencies that have failed these two kids!!
I am not putting the persons name in this blog - if he reads it - he will know I am talking to him. If someday he realizes how incredibly ridiculous his actions are - I am here!!

Blogger changed.....but here's at least part of Give Kids the World
So - trying to figure out the new blogger -- first they go and mess with my facebook......now they're changing my blogger!!
OK - I can adjust!! I think!!
So - since I am still trying to figure out exactly how to do some of this - this will be a quick post with only the Gingerbread House at Give Kids the World!!
The main entrance takes you into an open area that has seating to the left and right & straight ahead are the food lines.
The picture directly below is off to the side - but it gives an excellent view of the ceiling! There are millions of dolls and toys on the ledges of the ceiling!
At the very back of the building is a great big cupcake shaped room! And it has trains on the little shelves on the circle wall!
And here's Mrs. Mayor! She was making sure that everyone had plenty to eat!
The one thing that isn't real easy to show in these pictures is how little the chairs were! Let's just say.....they are definitely made for the comfort of the little ones!!

Wall hanging
I am behind in getting the rest of my posts made - but here's a real quick one.
.
Today I picked up the poster that we had matted and framed for Amie's room. This picture does not do it any justice at all!! It is so very cool looking.
.
This is the poster that our Give Kids the World volunteer was holding when we arrived at the Orlando airport.

This summer we plan on gutting Amie's room & re-insulating it (it is the coldest room in the house - Chris's is the next coldest) & then we'll repaint it....I'm thinking we may decorate it off of these colors!!
