Amie's learning to read!

Amie is learning to read!! She's super excited & so are we!
.
The reading starts with identifying letters and sounds - book one is all vowels & she's really close to doing it correct all the time!!

Post - EEG fun!

Wednesday 26th, Christopher got to entertain Amie from 9pm to midnight. They watched movies & ate popcorn. She had to stay up til midnight & then I had to get her up at 4am because they wanted to do an extended sleep deprived EEG.
.
She did pretty darn good for being woke up at 4am - we messed around the house & then went out to breakfast. We got to Peoria a little before our 9am appointment.
.
She did so incredibly good! She didn't fuss too much & did the techniques they wanted her to do & even fell asleep!! Could not believe how well she did!
.
Came home and she laid down about 1pm. At 4:30 I had to wake her up so she wouldn't think it was time to sleep for the entire night!
.
She was not real happy about being woke up!

But she did super the next day at school & bounced back to her regular routine pretty quickly!
.
Today (Sunday) we are still trying to get some of the goo out of her hair so Tiara suggested peanut butter........we'll see how she looks when we wash the peanut butter out in the bath tonight!

Kinec with Chris

Chris asked Amie if she wanted to play Kinec with him the other night.
.
She says, "Yes" - ran into the living room, opened up the desk & got a controller out and headed up the stairs. When Chris told her she didn't need a controller, she left it on the stairs!

She had no idea what she was supposed to do - but it was cute!

Just a day in the life...

On a recent day - chapel day at that - Amie was being silly, see Baby Elmo peeking out of her coat. It was fun, but then it had us running a bit behind schedule.

So living in Galesburg - what do you suppose happened?? Three guesses and the first two don't count!!
.
Yup - stopped by a damn train! Again!

Uggggggggghhhhhhh!

Visiting with Visitors!

Tim, Kim & TJ were here from Oklahoma - we met up at a hotel in Muscatine. Aunt Lois didn't get out of the hospital in time for the visit - so we took turns going up to the hospital to see her.
.
TJ is busy with the Leapfrog.

Uncle Andy spent the day doing what Uncle Andy does best......being a kid! :)

Amie and TJ were curious about some of the themed rooms that had their curtain pulled back just a smidge....

And playing with the pole was a hit!

Then the modeling clay became a family affair........

But of course what would you expect Darwin to build??
.
Yes - you go it.....turds! :P

But it was fun anyway!

Zhu Zhu Pets

So the week after Christmas Darwin was off & when I got home from work I found Darwin and Amie still in their jammies - playing with the zhu zhu pets! What a great thing to do if you don't have anywhere to go!!

Amie loved to make them run into each other!

After a busy day of playing - she broke out the new bath paint set that Aunt Beth got her!

It was certainly a big hit!
