Pumpkin Carving 2009
We went to the pumpkin patch a couple of weekends ago & Amie picked out an orange and a "blue" pumpkin! Actually - it was pretty funny, because we asked if she wanted to go pick out a "squash" just to see what she said, and she kept saying, "Get Squish?" Anyway - because blue is her favorite color - she wanted a "blue squish"!! So - they had these white ones & this one had a bluish ting to it!

Amie is singing!!
I don't know how else to say it but we're excited!! Over the past two weeks - Amie is beginning to sing!! She enjoys music, but has never been able to sing! Last year she started mouthing words, but that was as close as she came to singing.
.
She's not singing songs - but singing words of songs that she is familiar with! To me (just my thinking) - this tells me that she is beginning to figure out how to compensate for the paralyzed vocal cord!!!

Oh and she started whistling too!!

Fall Pictures - Bears Style!
I wanted to get some fall pictures today of the family.....well Chris worked mornings, and Tim slept in! So, I got Amie outside to get some pictures! When she heard that I wanted to take her picture - she wanted to take her pretend camera and "take pictures" too!

Tiger was running around trying to get in all of the pictures!!

fence
I do have one picture! The last piece of the fencing hadn't been placed yet - but this gives you the view where these sections were tied into the fencing we had put on the side of the deck.
.
I like the privacy that it gives and the sense of protection that the dogs can't just jump over the corner of the fence! (we know our little houdini would get out whatever way possible!)

My new fence!
It was a much bigger job then it appeared...but I have a new privacy fence coming off of the deck now! We have chain link all the way around the yard. This is fine, except that right next to the deck, it was only about a foot - foot and a half above the level of the deck at the corner. So I wanted to extend the privacy fencing down about 20 foot from the deck.
.
Unfortunately, what we didn't think about were how HUGE the root system is of the big tree next to the deck!!
