Amie's Wish Trip - First full day Monday 1-4-2010

Monday morning - the girls slept in a little bit. We got everyone rolled out of the house around 9ish in the morning. Darwin took a few pictures of our villa and the name plate in front of our villa.

We were on the right side of this villa - it was so cute!

Directly across the street from us was the Life Size Candy Land!

We walked over to the central area of the Village. I'm going to do a individual blog in the future just on the village. But here are a few pictures of the girls goofing around.

After breakfast - we went over to the theater where Mickey and Minnie were greeting the families. Amie noticed that Dad was on the other side of the theater.

As we were leaving the theater - Mary Poppins was there to see the girls!

And outside was Goofy and Pluto!!

Once we finished seeing the characters - we headed to the Magic Kingdom!

At the entrance waiting to get through one of the lines

As we got through the entrance - we could see the castle across the water!

Time to head onto the Ferry Boat!

We were SOO cold on that Ferry! But the girls decided to make the best of it - dancing to their own music!! Singing the Lilo and Stitch song!

Heading down Main Street!

Darwin took charge of the girls's balloons!! (Note to self - do NOT buy balloons as soon as you get to the park in the future!!)

Riding the Tea cup ride!!

The HIGHLIGHT of Amie's trip!! She got to meet Ariel!!

Outside of Ariel's Grotto - was a water game - since it was January - it only spit drops of water when the kids jumped on the activation pads!!

The World Famous Dumbo Ride!!

A shot of the castle with the girls in front of it!

What our girls really are................... :)

The Carousel Ride - I'm not sure who or what Amie was trying to say...

Wishing Well

A Disney Charm Bracelet for memories!

The Girls and Their Mickey Ears!!

More Goofiness!!

A closer picture of the castle
Waiting to go in the haunted mansion......little did I know it would be too scary for Amie!

Trying to ge a picture of the fairy dust that Amie had in her hair!

At 5pm they had a performance at the castle & a couple of fireworks - but I didn't catch them!

It was a long day - we got back to our villa around 7ish. Amie did ok - but was a bit on the cranky side & needed carried more then typical. Little did I know that was just the beginning...
.
Here are the balloons! They lasted all week - we finally deflated them on Friday night!

And while we were at Disney - Amie saw these cute little chocolate - carmel apples and said, "Amie need that" (emphasis on the NEED)! How could I tell her no??!!
.
And OMG - they were delightful!!!

What better way to unwind after a long day then a whirlpool bath................with a few bubbles??

The girls had a great day of memories!!

Amie's Wish Trip Day One - 1-3-2010!!

This may be the only blog I get done while we are on Amie's trip! The internet is very slow.....and I have a little bit of time today because our little Princess is MIGHTY tired!! And so after breakfast today (Tuesday) - we came back to the villa to get a much needed nap!!
.
But let's start from the beginning!! These girls look awfully wide awake for 3am in the morning don't they!!??!!
.
A beautiful white limosine picked us up at our house at 3am & drove us to the Moline airport!!

The rest of us aren't so wide awake!

Getting out of the limo at the airport!

When we got to the Moline airport - the airline gave Amie a goodie bag.....in it was two containers of cotton candy!!
.
Here we are waiting for our connecting flight at the Atlanta airport!
.

We've finally arrived at the Orlando airport. We're riding the tram to the baggage area.
.

Our personal Give Kids the World greeter!! With a sign for Amie!! I am trying to keep it in perfect shape to laminate and hang in her room!!

After picking up our luggage and car - we were on our way to Give Kids the World. An incredible village in Kissimmee set up for Wish Kid families!! It was awesome! When you walk into the registration area - you can see that it is set up completely kid friendly!

Behind the registration building are many other buildings and activity areas. The girls were taking it all in!

Amie was given a Mickey Mouse & Kylee was given a Shamu Orca whale!

As we were getting ready to head to our villa - we looked up inside the tent & shrek, spiderman & tigress were up there looking down!!

We had such a long day - but that didn't stop us from checking out some of the village that night - but most of those pictures were on the cell phone - because we forgot the camera in our villa! I will donate an entire blog to the Give Kids the World buildings & activities! I am so humbled by what they are doing down here for kids! There are only 150 employees of Give Kids the World - but something like 25,000 volunteers!! Volunteers from helping at the cafeteria to at the airport, to dancing with the kids in the castle - you name it almost everyone you run into is actually a volunteer, not an employee!! I can hardly believe what they do & how incredible this place is!!
