Naibi Zoo Sunday May 23rd

Sunday May 23rd.....it was only 90 degrees.....why not walk around at the zoo?
.
It was pretty darn hot and humid - we didn't stay too long - but the girls enjoyed themselves, especially the cotton candy & ice cream!

She's not heavy.........she's my cousin!! La la la la!!

Feeding the Carp

Feeding the goats!!

"That Amie Blue Frog"!! ;)

Time for Africa

Thumbs up for a ride!

Water is a good thing in 90 degree weather!

"Amie 5"!! She didn't understand what she was supposed to do at the wing span.....just excited to see the 5!!

Kylee's "this" big!

Ice cream on her nose!

She wiped her nose off & I almost got a sweet smile - still see the ornery in her eyes though!

Sweet smile from Kylee!

This could have been a cute photo op.....but I guess we're pretty much done for the day!

Fans and water - great combination in the heat!

Dream Night at Peoria Zoo

Friday 5-28-10 was a special night at the Peoria Zoo.....but I forgot the camera!!
.
Make-a-wish and Peoria Zoo invited local wish kids to the zoo. It was very nice to have a cooler time of day and less people while we saw animals that were much more active than typical.....probably because they wanted to know why they were not inside for the night getting their dinner!!

I found this picture by googling the zoo - this was actually an area that we stood for a while. These two giraffes were kicking up their feet and very active trying to get the attention of their zoo keepers (we think) to let them inside!! It was neat to see them so active!

I did get two shots of Amie getting her face painted with the camera phone.

"Blue my favert" - of course part of her lion face paint had to be some blue!!

Thank You Make-A-Wish and Peoria Zoo!! The zoo has certainly changed from when we took the boys there many many years ago!

Now and Then!

Monday June 18th, 2007....Two Monkeys!!

Sunday May 23rd, 2010............Two Monkeys!!

Last Soccer Game

May 22nd brought the last soccer game of the season.....and Amie had a special privelge of getting to kick off at the beginning of the game!! AWESOME!! So we thought...
.
Taking some instruction from coach.
"Put me in coach......I'm ready to play!" She was taking this serious!!

.......Whistle blows......and we're off!!

"Hey wait a minute!!! This is my ball!! No one else is supposed to kick it!!! DIVE DIVE DIVE!!!"

Completely dejected!! They took the ball away from her.......

Here comes the herd!!! Where's Amie??

Ohhhhhhhhh - there she is!!

My magnificent pouter!!!

This is how we spent the rest of the game.....pouting in between tackles of the soccer ball!! Some things are just too difficult to understand!!

First dental procedure.... :(

Amie had to get a filling in a tooth. The filling is in the left (right side of Amie's mouth) side of the picture - the purple on the other side is the tylenol she was chewing....because as you can also see....she chewed her lip something terrible while it was numb!!

She did pretty darn good for something so scary & tolerated the owie lip really well!!

T-ball clinic

We started T-ball clinic a few weeks ago. Amie's trying to figure it out. However, we can definitely tell that she has seen alot more football then baseball! Or maybe she's going to start a new sport......Tackle T-ball!!
.
Here she is socializing instead of watching for a ball.

Amie and her little friend watch a real t-baller go after the ball!

Now the Tackle T-ball starts. I didn't capture a picture of her actually tackling one of the boys....but trust me - she does!

Now it's Amie's turn up at bat. Interestingly, the poor coach couldn't figure out whether she was going to bat right handed or left handed. Each time she would start to bat one way, he'd turn her around & then she'd try to bat the other direction....poor coach!!

She's had three practices to date. She definitely likes t-ball better then soccer......but we'll leave that for another post!
