Snowmegedon Day Two!

Ground Hogs Day - and even though the midwest is digging out of the biggest blizzard to hit since 1900 - Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow & is predicting an early spring!!!
.
:)
.
But as we woke up that morning - we surveyed the area!
.
First up - front door - even more snow had made it in between the doors - this door is very solid & latches perfectly - so all that snow is from wind only!!

East door as expected had the most snow between the doors! And the biggest drift - there would be no going out that door!!

The door to the west is the door the dogs go out & it could not be opened either.

So Christopher was sent out the front door & around to the gate to get the door shoveled out & a place for the dogs.....only problem - the gate is too full of snow too! He wound up coming around through the house & forcing this door open to get started shoveling!

Meanwhile - Darwin started went through the garage - look how much snow came in the garage door!! And the drive and front lawn are really full!

Christopher working on the dog area!

The snow was higher then the snowblower - so one of them would have to shovel off several inches before the other snow blowed!

The dogs are up & out! Buddy made it through the area Chris shoveled & found some low snow under the trampoline!

Snowmegedon's own Abominable Snowman!!

Amie got excited to see a very pretty cardinal come to visit!

Back to work!! Nice look Christopher!

After Darwin & Chris got us dug out (four hours worth of work!) We noticed that the neighbor had his plow truck stuck!! 4X4 to the rescue!!

Sweet success!!

As the sun was getting lower - you could see the area Chris dug out for the dogs a little better!

Up from her nap & ready to enjoy the snow!!

What are you doing there little Miss??

OH NO YOU DON'T!!!

Ha!!! I got the door shut in time!!!

The Beginning of Snowmegedon.....Blizzard 2011!

You know that old saying about March coming in like a lion and going out like a lamb.....wonder if it can be said for February as well??
.
February 1st we were in a Blizzard Warning by noon. The snow started & then the wind started picking up. The forecast was up to two foot of snow in a 24 hour period!!.
.
So.....by 4pm on Tuesday, we had sent home most people that could be sent home & I headed home.
.
Little Miss Amie - just thought it was another fun day in the snow!!

Tiger was pretty happy about the snow too!

Opened the east door & this is what I found between the doors - now that's not totally unexpected, because we hadn't lifted the glass portion of the door all the way closed at the beginning of winter - so there was about 4-6 inches of screen at the very top of the screen door where the blowing snow could get between the doors!

"Snow Pie" Anyone??

She was only outside about 15 minutes - but that was long enough to satisfy her desire to get out there!!

5:00 - it's really coming down!

At about 8:00 opened the door to the west to let the dogs out - this is a solid glass screen door.....and yet we have snow that has gotten in between the doors on this side also!
.
And as we opened the door to let the dogs out....the drift was already up above the bottom of the door!

Wonder what the morning shall bring????
