Week of the Young Child - Orange Room wear Orange

Wednesday was the wear your room color for the day....Miss Amie is in the Orange Room.....the only two orange things Amie had was the Bears jersey & this shirt. I preferred this one over the jersey.

The morning started off with Darwin heading to Peoria with his truck & trailer. He was trailering his motorcycle - so that when he left his truck for the day, he could ride his motorcycle back to Galesburg. He was planning on then picking up my car so he could go to Amie's parade & then get her off the bus at lunch......but you know about what they say about the best laid plans!!

At about 7:45 I got a phone call from Darwin - first one of the straps had broke holding the motorcycle - resulting in his motorcycle falling over on the trailer......end result was luckily only about $400 for a new saddle bag.
.
After he got moving again - he then blew a tire on the trailer!!! That's when he called me! So we had to finish getting ready, go to the tractor sypply store, buy a new tire and rim & then get out to the interstate with the tire!!
.
So......by the time we got back to Galesburg it was a few minutes after 9. I dropped Amie at school.....

Then I went to work.....In the mean time, Darwin changed his tire & headed back home (because he was now too late for the appointment he had in Peoria to have a bedliner put in the truck).
.
But he did make it back in time to see Amie's parade!

Then Amie and Darwin headed home for a much needed nap...................

Soccer Practice

Amie is so torn between wanting to practice & not wanting to practice....here she kept trying to decide whether to continue across the field or come back. She stood there for at least a minute & then decided she really didn't want to practice right then...

She finally started practicing with her team!

Week of the Young Child - Crazy Hair Day!

Crazy Hair Day - This year we used lots of characters!! I believe we had Elmo, Cookie Monster, Ariel, Miney, TinkerBelle, Dora & maybe another one or two; plus some bright colors and sequences!!

I have no idea what this look is - but I get it quite often!! I think she will not be happy when I start showing these pictures around to propsective boyfriends when she is a teenager!!!

She was afraid to touch the dandelions! I'm not sure why - but I even picked one and showed her it was ok......now she will pick every single one of the dandelions that is seeded - but she will not touch them when they are yellow!!

Bush......Amie......

Leave it to a 5 year old to turn cracks in the concrete into a game!! She hopped from area to area like it was hop-scotch!

Soccer Clinic - week of spring break 2010

Lucky for Amie - her soccer clinic was the week of spring break & Daddy took the week off to take her to all of her activities!
.
So for a little girl that is for the first time going to play soccer....she didn't do too bad. She desperately wanted to carry the ball instead of kick it from place to place.....and she loved to follow other children's activities (good or bad - didn't matter - she loves to mimic other kids!)


The pink striped ball was the only ball she would use & she would not let anyone else use it!! We had some issues if someone else tried to get it first...
