Welcome to the world Morgan!

Brittany got put in the hospital on June 1st.

But as the previous post showed - poor Mr. Morgan had a tough time coming into the world.

On the 3rd, I got my first chance to hold him! :)

Meet Morgan Cooper

Mr. Morgan Cooper was born this morning at 9:48 AM. Morgan weighed in at 7 pounds 12 ounces 20 1/2 inches long.

Fortunately, he seems to be doing really well. Unfortunately, he had a really rough time getting here!

Brittany was put in the hospital last night and they started inducing labor. By 3:30 this morning her water broke. By 6 AM she was really starting to dilate & decided to go with an epidural. By 9 AM she was fully dilated and was pushing. That's when it became really obvious that little Morgan was having a difficult time & they took Brittany in for an emergency c-section.

Because it was an emergency, no one got to be with Brittany & she had to be put to sleep.

Luckily Little Morgan came into the world looking pretty good.....except for his poor little head.

Poor little guy tried really hard to be born! He's tuckered out now and so his Momma!!

All Gave Some.....Some Gave All

On this special day - remember the reason for the day. It's more then just a day off. All Gave Some.....Some Gave All!

The things they come up with.....

Amie had blood drawn a few weeks ago....but that's not the reason for this post.

Oh no --- it gets so much better then just a very unhappy little girl that tells us "no bloodin"! (Although the way she says "bloodin" is quite cute!)

It started with a wild, busy frenzied little girl that was trying to keep herself entertained and her mind off of what was to come.

In our lab department, they have these little white stuffed dolls (no face, no clothes - just blank white cloth).

She did not like that there was no face, so she asked for a pen. I walked over to x-ray and got her a black sharpie.....

The doll was first given two eyes, a mouth and then a nose.

Good start, then she added a belly button -- and I started getting a little concerned. And yup - then she added "booties" (what she calls breasts) & as we started laughing, she got really giggly & then she turned her little doll over...

And added butt cheeks! OMG!! I could not believe that she was drawing butt cheeks!! And then I got really worried!! Luckily she started drawing hair & then started drawing on the arms and legs --- so at least we didn't get any other "parts" added to the little doll!!

I don't know where she comes up with some of these things.......but I am VERY glad that we didn't get anything else added!!

Happy 29th Anniversary

May 1st Darwin and I celebrated our 29th anniversary with a quick trip.

Darwin started out the weekend by sending me 29 beautiful roses to work.

And it ended as we were watching the news & find that Osama Bin Laden had been found and killed. Guess we'll always remember what day that happened on!
