Fresh snow is a difficult thing to turn down!!

We started out with a dusting this morning -- but after some continued flurries - by late morning we had a good inch or so. Amie was begging and begging to go out!


As you can probably tell from the pictures -- I stayed inside (took the pictures through the window!)

And you know - Fresh snow can always use a little lawn mowing!!! Even if you just go back and forth over the same trail!!

How wonderful it is to be young & not hate the cold!! As for me -- I'm ready for spring!!!

Illinois - land of the ???

First Jim Ryan - Now "Hot Rod" (as many like to call him) - Rod Blagojevich - quite the examples of politics gone bad!

"The Illinois House of Representatives have voted 114–1 to impeach Governor Rod Blagojevich. The one lone Representative voting against impeachment was Chicago Democrat Milton Patterson. It is the first time in Illinois history that a governor has been impeached. Previously, a legislative panel unanimously approved, 21–0, a scathing report accusing the two-term Democrat Governor Blagojevich of a wide array of offenses, including criminal corruption and wasting taxpayer money." - Scaredmonkeys.com

We knew something didn't smell right - our front row seat issues with this govenor was all the payroll problems that the state had. No payroll checks while he forced the senate into overtime meetings - and then no showed himself. With Darwin being a state employee -- obviously that is the side that we saw. But the rest of it is just as ridiculous! And he continues to fight to stay in power! I hope it doesn't cost too much to get him thrown out!

Twouble!

It's January 5th -- Amie's back at school. Darwin's back at work. Shouldn't things get back to normal? I had quite the chuckle this afternoon. I heard Amie babbling "Twouble, Twouble, Twouble, Twouble" First - this is a new word I had not heard before. And could not think of what she would be referring to.

So.... I said, "Is Amie in Trouble?"

"No - Klaus in Twouble!"

You guessed it....the next sentence after I said, "Why is Klaus in trouble?"

"Klaus eat Amie cookies!!"

.

Oh Boy --- wonder how many months we are going to hear about Klaus eating Amie's cookies?

BTW - the other thing she keeps saying is "Klaus sleeping" & "Klaus wake". Because on Christmas day when she kept talking about Klaus coming. Daddy told her that Klaus wouldn't be back until next year because he was asleep after such a long night. Don't think she got it!!!

Friday Night Fun

Brother Chris shot this picture of Amie bowling today. I don't think she's quite ready for primetime because four times the ball got stuck (stopped rolling) before it got to the end of the lane! The first time it stopped, I thought it would be ok to roll a second ball down the gutter to push it on through.

Well the second ball did get the first ball moving -- but then the second ball hit the gate as the gate was coming back up. That pushed the second ball all the way back up the gutter & onto the lane!! Seriously -- It worried me that it might have damaged something & I'd get a bill -- but it functioned fine the rest of the night!!

The other three times - we had them go get the ball!! Her final score was 20 (I think)!!

The boys have always loved bowling. Darwin was the big winner tonight -- but they all had fun!!

After bowling - we had dinner. Amie thought she should wear her glasses like Daddy!!
